Night date at Changgyeonggung Palace in Seoul

Changgyeonggung Palace is the third palace built in Seoul, following Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace.

The most beautiful place in Changgyeonggung Palace is the pond called Chundangji. If someone were to ask me for a date spot with a nice atmosphere, I would tell them, take a walk around the palace at sunset, and when it gets dark, sit on the bench in front of Chundangji and whisper your love.

Changgyeonggung Palace was damaged by the Japanese during the Japanese occupation in 1909 and converted into a zoo and botanical garden, and its name was changed to Changgyeonggungwon.

When Changgyeonggung Palace was restored in 1984, the animals and plants there were moved to Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon.

The main greenhouse is a trace of the botanical garden that still remains in Changgyeonggung Palace. The Daeonsil is a building that shows a side of Changgyeonggung Palace that was damaged under the irreverent intentions of the Japanese, but today, over 100 years later, it is designated as a registered cultural property with the meaning of modern cultural heritage.
